Promoting Green Building
Energy Efficiency
In 2011, TSMC Washington completed and implemented an energy reduction project for process cooling water. This project utilizes outside ambient air during the cool months to cool process water rather than using high energy chillers. The new cooling towers save over 3,000,000 kilowatt hours annually, the equivalent of greenhouse gas emissions from over 400 passenger vehicles.
Stormwater
TSMC Washington's on-site stormwater ponds are designed to collect storm water from catch basins which filters and slowly discharges the water through outfall to nearby wetlands. This protects the environment by slowly discharging rainfall rather than discharging a large rainfall event quickly; thereby reducing erosion and keeping wetlands wet.
Building forms
TSMC Washington diverted approximately 250,000 pounds from landfill waste by making building forms available free to the public. The forms are featured in Clark County's Too-Good-2-Toss program. Below are examples of how people have reused this resource.
Green Building
TSMC Washington's buildings include all modern and Energy Star rated fixtures to reduce energy consumptions.
